Working at Tigera was the worst professional experience of my life. Don’t let it be yours. The OTE they quote you is absolute nonsense. When I was interviewing, I asked how many people on the team are hitting quota, to which they replied 'they all are'. When in truth, the only person on my team who hit quota had been there for 3 years - all others missed significantly. This was the beginning of a journey full of lies. Tigera and I started out on the wrong foot, when they schemed my contract. Because you don't get a territory for 3 months (no opportunity to do outreach whatsoever), Tigera 'provide' guaranteed commission for the first quarter. This is very common and designed to make the transition from earning a good salary to not hitting quota right away easier. In my case, Tigera decided to change the contract from being paid after 6 months to being paid 15 months after I started. This is unheard of and completely defeats the purpose. The training was a disgrace. I had 4 training sessions, 2 of which were repeats of the first 2 because they hired another rep in Ireland who needed some training too. I noticed that I wasn't getting any training, so I reached out to the individual responsible on Jan 14. I got a reply on March 2 about something else, my question about training was completely ignored, I just got a response because I brought up a deal I had.. Attention is given to money, attention is not given to people. Something they say about why sales AEs don't work out at Tigera is because the technology is too difficult for them. This is nonsense, it is the easiest excuse to externalize blame and diminish the intelligence of your former employees. If you're a candidate and you don't believe me, go on LinkedIn Sales Nav and search for former AEs at Tigera and you will notice many who have left after less than a year. Outbound has never worked at Tigera (hence the very few clients), and it's simply too niche and its use case is too specific to drive cold outbound interest, so be mindful that North America gets enough inbounds for 2 Enterprise reps, and enough inbounds for 1-2 mid market reps (max.). If they have reached this number already, don't expect to make any commission. The marketing team is a complete disaster. It's honestly like a far fetched comedy skit. Marketing fabricates data, blames sales, sales provides feedback, marketing creates a new report to divert attention and continue a cycle of fabrication, manipulation and gaslighting. I tried to provide feedback many times, and was ignored many times. The CMO, Utpal, very successfully fools the CEO, Ratan, it seems. Either that, or it would seem that they’re complicit in the lies in an attempt to get acquired. If you’re applying for an Engineering role, you likely wouldn't experience many of these situations, but you should know the CTO resigned, and so did his successor.. There is a serious diversity problem.
