Vantaggi

A talented, passionate group of people on the ground level and the opportunity to make an impact on food waste and climate change. Unfortunately, that's about it.

Svantaggi

I'll start by saying that it wasn't always like this. It genuinely used to be an amazing place to work but things have declined, and fast! All of the things that used to make Too Good To Go a great place to work have disappeared over time and what's left is a toxic culture and a demoralised, poorly compensated, unhappy team. The dream that they sell you in the job ad, unfortunately, isn't what you get anymore. As a Bcorp, businesses are supposed to place utmost importance on people, planet and purpose, alongside profit. Too Good To Go did this, and very well, hence the Bcorp certification. However, over the last 12 - 18 months, the company have totally lost sight of everything other than profit. Staff are being pushed harder than ever before without any extra recognition, reward or compensation, and the end result is that people are burning out or having to take time off for their mental health. The leadership skills, particularly emotional intelligence, displayed by senior management is incredibly poor. There is no empathy or understanding. Even when decisions directly affect you and you don't agree with them, there's no opportunity to discuss it - you're just told that it's tough and to get on with it. Whilst on the topic of senior management, if you're looking to progress your career then I'd certainly look elsewhere. There is little to no opportunity for promotion or growth. Promotions that do occur internally are based on who you know or if your face fits rather than being earned by actually proving yourself. It's very cliquey once you reach a certain point in the company and promotions are always made from within the same pool of people. They want 'yes' people who won't push back on decisions, even when they're not right for the team. I've personally witnessed under-performers gain promotions whilst consistent over-achievers are told that progression opportunities aren't available. This means that super talented people leave the business to find companies that actually value them and a lot of senior management positions are filled by incapable, under-qualified people who don't have a clue how to perform in their roles and support their team effectively. The current CEO bought into the company around 6 years ago and I think this is one of the cruxes of the issues we're now seeing. The original founders of the business were super passionate people who wanted to tackle a serious issue and their main focus was to make a genuine impact - profit was just a bonus. This was clearly reflected in the business; passionate, motivated, happy staff all pushing towards the same goal. The main aim of the people now in charge is to ensure they make a return on their investment. Sustainability plays a part but it's not the main goal anymore and decisions are made based on what will make the company more profitable, not what will create the most impact. At this point in time, the company are pushing the boundaries of greenwashing. It's such a shame as the company had such great potential but it will never be fulfilled whilst profit is the single driving force behind their decision making process. If I was writing this 2 years ago, I'd 100% recommend people join Too Good To Go and I would have given them a 5* review. Unfortunately, it's a shell of the company that it used to be and they have totally lost sight of their values in the pursuit of profit. This is shown by the mass exodus of staff that is currently being seen. In the UK, the turnover of staff used to be extremely low but this year, is well over 50%. I've seen amazing people in this company broken down, their confidence shattered and their mental health deteriorate as a direct impact of poor management and the decisions made by Too Good To Go so, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it as a place to work.

People in the org are amazing and mission driven

Svantaggi

Horrible leadership! The most incompetent Senior leadership I have ever seen. It's as if their goal is to run the company into the ground. Do not expect to last more than a year in this role
