Vantaggi

They do a lot to make up for their shortfalls by creating a fun culture. Overall great, energetic, and happy people to work with. Working Uptown is also fun!

Svantaggi

The company's bottom line drives all decisions and trumps everything. They flaunt that they're a "Best Place to Work" and that they care about their employees...but they don't. It’s all about money. They’d rather let you quit than give you a raise (they know they can replace you quickly). It’s their business model which is good for the company’s bottom line but not great for employees. Also, there is a huge difference in the compensation of people doing the same job with the same experience. Many times, new-hires make more than veterans. Don’t be surprised to hear that your coworkers are making 5-10K more or less than you. They know that most employees will only stay for 2 years max before they get a better job offer for A LOT more money. Hiring is a mathematical game. They hire as many people as possible, knowing they'll have to let a percentage go every month. SALES BEWARE. This is a high-pressure sales environment and you’ll be required to cold call all day long (they’re transparent about this). You'll find your coworkers dropping like flies (quitting or being fired) every week. If you do not perform you'll be gone very quickly too. They do promote sales managers, but they frequently demote them as well. There is very little stability in this job. They say commissions are great (top sellers do make a lot of money) but it’s very hard to do this in a cold call environment. Most of the top sellers are not Inside Sales. You have to LOVE the grind to do this job well. Again, great for experience, but you’ll move on quickly. ACCOUNT MANAGERS TAKE CAUTION. If you have more than 2 years of experience in account management (digital marketing specialist role) then stay away. The Account Management/ Digital Marketing Specialist role has become more and more structured over the years and roles have become more clearly defined. This is good, but it can also make the job monotonous. There is very little flexibility and autonomy. You’ll have a massive (and I mean massive) book of business which is difficult to manage and a manager breathing down your neck to make sure you’re making the appropriate # of phone calls and following talking points. This is the better side of the business to work on and the leadership for this division is great! They care more about employees and try to create a fun culture. TSI CULTURE. The best thing about working at TSI is all the great coworkers you'll meet. They also do some contests, games etc. to keep the moral up. But, there's a dark side to TSI culture that you'll discover after being there 6 months. You'll find that it is actually a very "clicky" culture. It's cut throat and high pressure. The culture you once knew will disappear. This divisive and highly competitive culture trickles down from the President through the entire organization. To wrap it up, Townsquare Interactive is a great springboard for anyone straight out of college, that's looking for a career change or needs a short term job. They won't pay you a lot, but you'll get opportunities to be promoted if you're good at your job. Even the promotions are just stepping stones on your path to getting out of TSI. The only way to be successful is to drink the Kool-aid (even though your gut says you shouldn’t). Please be weary and understand exactly what you're getting into when you go to work for TSI. Make sure it's a good fit for you. For many people, it will be, but for a majority of professionals out there, it is not. You deserve better. P.S. be wary of the extremely positive reviews on their profile. They actively solicit good reviews from current employees.

Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear this about your experience with Townsquare Interactive. We find that the majority of our employees are satisfied with the challenges of each position and the training and support they gain from both our management and executive teams. Both the company culture and opportunities for growth that you mentioned far out weigh the day-to-day "grind" of each role. Thanks again and good luck in your future career!

Vantaggi

Many people are very nice and eager to help you when you need it.

Svantaggi

It’s very cliquey. Workplace politics are very real. You can’t really move around or up unless you’re chummy with upper management. You’re really treated like a vessel not a human.
