Overpromise and underdeliver is the company motto. Constant reorganizing, layoffs and 'strategy shifts'. Reorganizing comes first, strategy is optional and comes after. Unless another reorg happens in the meantime. The C-suite is disconnected, unaccountable and mostly clueless about the inner workings of their company and product. Middle management needs to run damage control every time the CEO addresses the company. All the reorgs and refocusing and pivoting have left the org structure in shambles. Some teams are overworked, some teams have no idea what they should be doing, some teams have more managers than engineers. Projects and initiatives picked up, thrown around and forgotten as people leave, are fired or shuffled around to the point where every product is an mvp, nothing is matured but everything is the next big thing that can save the company. Every day is putting out fires and trying not to lose customers. In a few years company has gone from fast growth to barely keeping it together. To blame is of course the pandemic, the economic downturn and every employee who is not taking full responsibility. Nothing is said about failed initiative after failed initiative, lack of focus and overall chaos inside the company. At least the CEO is honest about not being the place for you if you want job security.
