They keep lazy people around, and even re-hire them for employment when they've shown no commitment to the company. I had a series of unfortunate events happen to me, and took some time away. I was a very hard worker, learned quickly, was able to be on my own and didn't require long training, quickly learned brazing and welding in addition to my assigned job; yet still I was made to feel unworthy.
