Vantaggi
Used to be laid back environment, flexible hours, overtime available, company lunches, etc.
Svantaggi
Most employees are underpaid, management does not care about loyalty, many of old perks are now being taken away, engineering firm that still uses very outdated technology and software that hinders performance, and increases costs. Instead of talking to the people who actually do the work, getting an idea of problems or ways that we as managers could help them, the employees constantly felt like they were ignored or that management did not care about them. Very low company moral, mainly due to decisions made by senior management which affected employees...even though these decisions may benefit the employees in the future, and only have a short-term negative affect, after making changes, senior management made no effort to explain or even discuss it with employees to let them know what is going on. Being as though I started from the bottom and worked my way up to being a manager, I could very easily see many ways we were not being effective managers and supporting our employees like we should. This caused employees to be afraid to bring up any ideas they have, ways we could be more productive, and basically stifled any innovation from your employees...where were weren't trying to help them work smarter, just telling them to work harder. Which in the end, causes more stress, lowers company moral, and costs more money. I feel sorry for any of the employees who do the real work that are still with the company.
