TMG gives you the ability to take on real risk early in your career. Within a month or two responsibilities increase substantially, but with the increase in responsibility comes lots of room to grow, learn, and make a direct impact on your desk. This environment is very collaborative and bodes well for somebody who loves to learn and make a difference right away. The overall culture at TMG is very curious. It is common to communicate between desks and wonder how the other desks’ operations may apply to yours. Overall, it is a very fun place to work and the work days fly by.

Svantaggi

Depending on the desk younger traders may work night shifts. This can actually be a pro too depending on how you approach it. In my opinion the night shift is great for learning and taking on the plentiful opportunities, but it may be difficult if you have obligations outside of work that fall after normal working hours. TMG is also very generous to cater meals for night shift traders which helps.

- You get to take on risk very early on in your career; opportunity to develop new strategies and make big impact as a junior. - Great work culture: friendly people and little toxicity. - Good internship to full-time pipeline (which is what I did). They spend a lot of time/resources investing in and training both interns and new-hires.

- Starting salary is on the lower end for the industry - Especially compared to HFT's, less tech-forward; less exposure to innovative/exciting ML or AI

Collegial atmosphere, I hang out with some of my coworkers on weekends Much less of an up-and-out culture than other firms (they really want to keep all juniors and hire all interns FT) Real path to being a head of desk and becoming a partner at the firm (quick as 5 years if not sooner) Lots of responsibility for juniors (I manage my desk's whole book over the Asia market hours)

The desk you get placed on is decided in a way largely out of your control, especially as a junior. However, I do think most juniors really don't know where their skills lie. Compensation for juniors is on the lower side for Prop Trading
