Vantaggi
There will be a period of time where you can get around 100 hours per month. This will be for about a 5 month period of time teaching Instrument students. Learning in the PHX airspace is also challenging yet a great experience.
Svantaggi
-Please take recent 5 star reviews with a grain of salt, management realizes most CFI's aren't happy so they are asking certain people to leave reviews. -We are the only large flight school in the valley where you have zero control of your schedule. Your start time will change each day, and you won't know until the evening before when you will start. Good luck trying to plan anything. Also, you will have no say on days off. Those will also change after a period of time. Having a life outside work is minimal and not easy. The change of days and times wouldn't be such a big deal if it was communicated to you when that changes, but you won't hear anything about it and it will change with no notice to you. -Certain managers will pressure you to fly no matter the conditions. Mission completion is more important to these select managers than safety. -Pay, it's been said already by other reviews here but we are the lowest paid CFI's in the valley. -The airplanes are very high time airplanes and are falling apart. Don't let the "Our airplanes have AC" persuade you. I would say about 25% of the airplanes AC are actually working. Maintenance issues while you are flying are common and at times dangerous. Crews getting stranded at far away airports is not an uncommon thing here.
