Vantaggi
Decent salary, ok benefits, sometimes get to deal with latest technology. Can sometimes work from home.
Svantaggi
VERY chaotic, management is all over the place and not on the same page, which means that the work handed down doesn't make sense but has to be done NOW. Deadlines more important than a quality product. Yearly reviews are based upon meeting theoretical metrics, but there's no time to do them and they are ignored - with management's full support there. Slavedrivers (if you let them). Always chasing the competition - rarely does a new idea get off the ground. Confusion over leadership - differing "bosses", "leads" or "architects" make different demands. The result? a messy product. Customer service is AWFUL (I know first hand) - if they don't fix this, what's the point in making a product to sell? People change their plans, and sending them on a wild goose chase is not a way to win loyalty. I'm talking about the normal Travelocity cust. service, not the VIP, Partner, etc. I don't know if it's always the outsourced customer service, but nothing ever gets resolved. One thing I forgot - don't even factor the bonus (if you are offered one) into your decision making. You'll never get any significant portion of it (usually none of it) for some reason or another.
