The technology being developed here is incredible. You will learn plenty working here, given the implication.

Upper management is completely detached from the actual work being done by the engineering team. Fails to effectively communicate with strategic business partners when setting expectations and giving updates on product feature timelines. Good luck receiving any of the promised year end bonuses or promotions. Never paid out on anything and gave a pathetic raise that didn't match inflation. They put no effort into improving how they operate. Extremely toxic work culture. If you aren't constantly defending your position as an engineer here, they will throw you under the bus and dispose of you. Workload and expectations do not align with the 24 hours we have each day. You will be expected to wear a multitude of hats and pick up slack by working insane hours to meet arbitrary deadlines. Very chaotic work culture. The CEO is entirely absent, living in LA commuting once a week or so. Surrounded by yes-men. Has a tendency to discriminate against people of color, those with disabilities, and the LGBT+ community as a whole. When he is in the office, he makes sure to touch you uninvited to display his masculine dominance over you. Absolutely repulsive behavior.

Medical company working to improve surgical outcomes for patients. Great place to work if you want to do very little work or are good at dealing with non-technical management.

Poor work culture, engineering capabilities and extremely toxic management. Problems are usually hidden from team members because the company culture is extremely blame orientated. All of the IP is essentially bought or consulted out which means there is no custom design work for engineers who wish to contribute to the products. This also creates a technological vacuum where extremely senior engineers, who should be good individual contributors, are actually not performing at the level which their seniority suggests. This leads to problems being left unsolved or hidden for years at a time or data and tests being altered to make it seem as things are working, until they don’t. Management enables this as long as you remain on their good sides. Unfortunately, these issues show up as lack of quality and issues of products in both hardware and software domains. Hiring seems to be based on being on an in group or previous friends of management. Very little is based on true merit or hard work. There is also no real diversity at this company which I think manifests as lack of creativity and problem solving capabilities.
