Some teams become very tight-knit, making it difficult at times, emotionally, to transition in the organization's very organic matrix structure. I regret not having discussed certain issues with my first supervisor, regarding my worry that I was poaching work away from my fellow team member and cubicle neighbor. They probably would have been able to convince me to sit tight with them for a long duration, which in hindsight would have indeed been a better path for me, professionally. Also, folks can be so darn nice. But always observe a good distance from those you work with, and don't ruin your shots at leading a team by confessing to them you have cold feet or imposter syndrome after a good dinner and night on the town.
