7yThank you for you review. Each time we receive feedback it helps us look at what we can do better to improve our workplace environment and employee experience. The culture we have built at Turn5 is critical to our continued success and it’s important that each employee feel valued. Our company core values are something that we stand by and take seriously, and we hold our employees to a high standard.
We have had tremendous growth over the last few years with 22 employee promotions in the first part of 2018. With growth may come the need to restructure to maximize efficiency and improve processes. These decisions are not made lightly. We look within the organization to see if there is an opening within another area of the business where an employee’s skillset may be relevant. After all options are exhausted and it is determined that a position is to be eliminated, we support and encourage the individual whose position is being eliminated to consider future employment with us as they are eligible for rehire.
We strive to make sure that our quarterly goals are clear and relevant to each function so that individuals are set up for success. We are not afraid to rework goals until we achieve that. It may take a few revisions, but it’s with the employee’s best interest in mind. In order to facilitate more productive communication, we are testing a weekly feedback forum, through which employees submit messages to their managers each Friday. The goal of this program is to have focused communication on what is important to you. Stay tuned!
We’re proud of our new space and want to show it off. Those who come to our building are vendor partners, candidates that are interested in Turn5, students from Villanova’s Business Program, and local professionals for industry networking events. These may explain the “investor types” seen touring the building.
Each person defines success in their own way, and some do that through formal education and others through experience. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg took the experience path. Sheryl Sandberg and Jeff Bezos chose formal education. Steve and Andrew’s knowledge and success of the business has earned them numerous awards over the years and opportunities to speak at formal education institutions and on panels and at workshops among leading industry professionals. One thing is clear, they recognize that they would not be where they are today without the amazing Turn5 team.
