Brief stay but productive! - Recensione dipendente - Swim Instructor presso Turner Swim

If swimming is your passion and you want a career in the aquatics industry, there isn't a better place than Turner Swim. The first major positive about this company is as a teacher they're able to offer you a proper job either in a full or part time position, which isn't the case in most swim teacher jobs, for example on average I teach a total of 30 hours a week for over four years now! Secondly the management team within Turner Swim really cares about its employees, they give constant internal support and training as well as providing funding for external qualifications like the open water swimming teacher course. This amazing level of support has taken me from learning how to perfect the art of teaching adults, to launching a swimming fitness app and to now helping the company grow further. In terms of the teaching you get to work within amazing hotels which all have lovely swimming pools, the clients are also great and it's really rewarding to help them progress using the Turner Swim methods. These methods have been built and perfected by the founder and the results are unbelievable, for example by using the Turner Swim methods I recently taught a client who started off by not being able to float, but after a series of lessons they achieved their goal and ended up swimming the English Channel! I can't thank Turner Swim enough for giving me the support to develop my teaching and skills, as well as giving me the opportunity to have a career within the industry I love.

There are no negatives about Turner Swim

The owner of the company had his moments of kindness and it’s enjoyable to work as part of a small company. Also offered to provide some good training.

The owner switches from loving a member of staff to hating them and pushing them out. He is a straight up bully who has zero empathy and can be overall nasty. Probably the worst manager I’ve ever had and unbelievably micromanaging. Would ask you to do something then when you copied exactly what he asked you to (literally word for word) he would belittle you and tell you off saying you had disobeyed his instructions. As for the positive reviews - he would always make me take the front seat for anything negative that needed to be said to customers and tell me this was because as the owner he couldn’t have any negative reviews of himself. During covid he treated staff despicably - refused to furlough me and tried to stop me getting other jobs so I wouldn’t be able to pay my rent, all in the attempt to make me quit so I’d have to pay back my bonus. Utterly disgusting behaviour.
