Vantaggi
Schedule allows lots of time for other pursuits. Decent hourly rate for employees directly out of college. Kids are nice.
Svantaggi
Massive turnover. I haven't been here that long, but I've seen a lot of the more experienced people quit. I'm not sure if there's anyone other than upper management who's been here more than 5 years. Definitely a short-term job and not a career, which I guess is fine if that's all you're looking for. Hours are variable and often not enough to support yourself without a second job, particularly on the verbal side. They're doing additional hiring now, which is confusing as I know many of us are still vying for hours. They seem to force people out by not providing enough work rather than making clean fires or providing feedback about how to get more hours. When I went through their application and training process, this position was sold to me as if it was a full time job with lots of room for growth. That is clearly not the case, and I would not be able to pay my bills with the mere 10 hours per week (if I'm lucky) if I hadn't taken a second part time job. Even the more senior tutors seem to be struggling. I just wish they had been more upfront about what the job really was when I was first hired; I probably wouldn't have taken this position or would have started looking for a full time job sooner.
