I got to serve at One Domino Square — owned and managed by Brooklyn’s beloved developer, Two Trees. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this chapter in the Domino Development story. Want to honor my leaders of the Leasing Department. Up to this point in my real estate career, I’ve never encountered a human that knows Brooklyn and their own business as much as the Director of the Residential Leasing Division. More than a Leasing Director, I reflect back and now see her as the Head Coach of the Leasing Department. She didn’t let us off the hook; she expected us to be knowledgeable, just like her. If you get to work under her, be prepared to put in the reps, so you will know Brooklyn and every aspect of the business also. The Associate Director of the Leasing Department puts a lot of critical thinking into making sure that every guest who interacts with our team are treated well and walks away with an exceptional experience with Two Trees. She trained all of us and made us better “people-persons.” Very grateful for fearless Leasing Manager at One Domino Square. I’ve done a lease-up before. It is crucial that the captain of the ship provides stability. Her unshakeable optimism to overcome every obstacle, ambition to hit our goals, and unwavering commitment to our team’s success kept us grounded. She didn’t sweat the small stuff, which is why the mission of Two Trees remained the primary objective at One Domino Square. She was the anchor for our team. And as our spearhead, she helped us cross the finish line. Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to my leasing teammates. We all come from different backgrounds, but we were able to put our unique strengths and talents together to accomplish our common goals diligently, efficiently, and effectively. We all worked extremely hard and treated every single one of our guests like they were VIPs (because they are). The company promotes from within and seems to invest in it's staff. Compared to other real estate developers that I've worked for, the company seems very organized in terms of processes. However, they are process heavy. There is a lot of back end admin work after closing a deal. The team is diverse, smart, and personable. They company has great portfolio of buildings and is making an impact on the NYC, especially with it's new buildings in Williamsburg like Domino Square.

The commissions are two low. It takes effort to close deals. With a commission of $100 per apartment rented, after taxes, it leaves $65. The base salary is good, but sales people need something to strive towards, and it would be motivating to add additional pay or incentives for deals closed. Also, each apartment is valued the same in terms of commission. Higher value or harder to rent apartments should have higher commissions. The job becomes boring due to lack of incentives.
