Vantaggi
I worked in the ops dept UBS under a contract company full time for the past 2 years. While I am not directly employed at UBS, the benefits such as leaves and medical benefits are decent enough.
Svantaggi
- same role for the past 2 years: i was doing the same task for the past 2 years with no opportunity to learn other tasks in other teams because the work load is so heavy that they are not able to sacrifice any amount of time to train staff to process other documents. -compromising quality for quantity: mgt would rather overwork their staff than hire new staff to assist with the growing workload- and you would get blamed if you are not able to cope with the unrealistic workload that is constantly growing. They do not take into consideration that you are human and that you do get tired too. They expect you to be accurate and consistently fast at all times for every single work day. Be prepared to get questioned if you slip for just 1 day. -favouritism abounds: only people who are considered close to the line manager would be noticed and praised regardless of merit. The mgt here is a bit blind to who is actually contributing. - achievements not recognised: this leads me to continue on to this point where only those who are recognised by the line manager would get acknowledged for their contributions. - old mindset: for a company that apparently embraces diversity( anything different etc.) and keeps harping about it all the damn time, the line managers here still utilises face time to gauge the quality/value of an employee. Bottom line is, if you dont ot, you aren't a good employee. Absence of work-life balance: since your line managers expects you to OT, you can bet that work-life balance is non existent. I wont even rate it a zero. It's actually a negative.
