Organisation of projects was pretty chaotic - projects frequently got cancelled after significant effort had been put in. There was no real process in place - There was a release every 3 months or so, but it wasn't very well planned and frequently targets were missed, or changed throughout the cycle. That was about it really as far as process goes. The project I worked on was enormous, on its last legs, had zero unit testing, and was therefore totally unsuited to any refactoring. Most of our effort was spent on bug fixing. The delicacy of the code meant that implementing even the simplest new features took an age.
