Vantaggi
- decent benefits: sick time, COVID time, normal vacation time. - bureaucracy makes everything super slow + chill
Svantaggi
- toxic leadership. Management that not only doesn't care about their employees as humans but are overtly rude to instructors as well - outdated and archaic systems that are almost impossible to use effectively - managers are too overworked to care about your professional development. Will be annoyed if you even ask for it. - strong sense of bureaucracy. It is impossible to get straight answers from people about what should be a simple process. - during COVID, 40 people were fired and nobody communicated about it so you didn't know until you emailed them and it was bounced - blatant racism. People of color are not promoted at a rate proportionate with their white counterparts. - management likes to evangelize about how important the "student experience" is to them, but they do not live those values and in many cases make life harder for students. It is clear there is an understanding that because the Berkeley brand is behind the programs the customer service does not need to be quality. - strong sense of favoritism - inauthentic performance reviews that are more of a formality and waste of time than anything else - you can't talk to HR about any of these issues; they are part of the problem
