      High profile, work for the greater good of the people. The public benefits from hard work and research done at the company.

      No room for real growth. Most employees are stagnant and technical training is not a priority. Company does not keep up with current technology trends and expects employees to work in a "Production Line" mode, even though the work does not lend itself to that type of operation (Senior MGT does not understand (or maybe they do and just dont care?) this because they have never done the work themselves). Company has become too political in recent years and this makes it difficult or impossible to speak your mind (it is discouraged by intimidation). Many managers only seem to care about themselves and not their direct reports.

      - The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

      - Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.

We understand that some may encounter longer working hours, especially during peak periods tied to customer deadlines. Although these situations are time‑limited and part of real project demands, we recognize that extended hours can be challenging and are not something we want to become the norm. We are actively exploring ways to better balance workload expectations, provide clearer guidance around work hours, and ensure managers have the tools to support healthy work practices. We appreciate this feedback.
