These comments may be extremely useful to improve the ground reality of the organization irrespective of what is said about UNAIDS in the media. 1. In the name of mobility, organization is wasting more than 20 million USD every year to move people and disrupt the whole organization. The stress placed on staff is enormous. It could have been so simple if the mobility was voluntary and based on the needs in different locations of the organization. The whole mobility policy is based on 1950s mode of working. It needs a complete revamp. 2. GENDER EQUALITY HERE MEANS GIVING UNFAIR OPPURTUNITIES TO WOMEN In the name of gender balance and sexual harassment, women get promoted, they have imbalanced access to leadership training and promotions. All the deputy executive directors in UNAIDS are women. This review is not directed against women. But, there is unfair treatment for men and those especially relatively young, who have barriers to grow and get promoted because of the current situation of UNAIDS. It will be without doubt that in most grades, women have had more than a fair share of grades and the number of positions. P3, P4 and G grades. ASG grade -Almost all are women, Significant proportion of Director grades are women. Ideally, the focus must be for both gender to have equal opportunities.
