Vantaggi
UNILAD offers a fun and creative working environment that has allowed me multiple opportunities to grow. I have been heavily encouraged to partake in creative briefs and in the production process of video content and feel that these are life long skills that will help me to flourish in my career. One of the most rewarding parts is the team with which I work amongst. All creative teams, verts and video teams work closely together and support one another from day to day tasks and bigger projects. There is an open and friendly environment with plenty of opportunities to socialise both in and outside of work.
Svantaggi
The main issues I have experienced in the job are: A lack of resources. When it comes to production, there have been times where double bookings and lack of organisation and equipment have jeopardised a shoot. Lack of training. Specifically video, I have not had a training session with the video team on the company aesthetic and branding. You are very much thrown in the deep end and whilst this can sometimes be positive, in a media content role, I feel it's necessary to be fully briefed in what is required. Lack of development. While my role has developed slightly and I have more opportunities in video, there has been no pay rise to meet this and my job title has not changed. Lack of transparency. There have been a few issues that have arisen across the company in the last year I have been here and it is not always clear what is going on. Cleanliness. The office is regularly lacking in cleanliness. This is sometimes due to individuals being messy, but more often it is due to the fact that their is not . regular working cleaner or team of cleaners (with 100+ people in one office) Expenses. On multiple occasions I have had to pay for equipment rentals, taxis, food and drink on shoots. It is incredibly hard to expense anything. I have probably lost over 80pounds from this alone.
