- URX has an incredibly talented team and each employee has a very impressive background - Academic culture and a team that is willing to teach; a URX internship is a great opportunity to get a crash course in tech and business fundamentals - Very robust intern program: John and the rest of the team make it a priority to mentor the interns and help them develop skills that will aid them in their career pursuits. - Everyone is very passionate about their role and seeing the company succeed - Free lunch, lots of snacks, and a great office in South Park

I really don't have anything to say here. I will say that everyone works extremely hard so if you're looking for an easy summer internship then you should look elsewhere.

URX is focused on fixing the age old problem of linking across apps. The team is really locked into the vision of using search to contextually do this. We get to work with some world class engineers from the world of search (and in general the team is stellar) and was given a large amount of autonomy from the get go. The CTO encourages learning and working on open source (I think 2 of our Leads are prominent contributors to Lucene and Spark). Lots of visibility into the goings on of other teams, leadership meeting notes are shared with the team and John (CEO) and Andrew (CTO) make themselves available to anyone that wants to spend time with them. We're starting to do a lot more team activities which has definitely brought the team closer. All in all, great experience so far!

The team is small so the workload can spike around deadlines. Management is pretty good about letting people take time off or work remotely after long stretches. The benefits are decent but there's definitely room for more options. The organization is super flat. It will be interesting to see how that changes as we grow.
