I worked here only briefly, but I had a great experience. The judges were thoughtful and understanding of employees' personal needs. The work could get busy at times, but was never unmanagable, and virtually never required me to put in hours past 5pm. The cases are sometimes interesting as well, which is a nice added perk.

As with any government job, the software is outdated and takes some getting used to. There's not much room for growth as a paralegal/legal assistant. It might be difficult to use this as a stepping stone to a higher paid paralegal positon elsewhere, because you're more of an administrative assistant than a true paralegal. However, there are also worse places you could be, and if you took the initiative to learn substantive legal skills, I imagine the judges would support and help you. I left as COVID-19 was winding down and employees were going back into the office. The agency's policy was to send support staff back but not require the judges to return. For obvious reasons, the support staff was unhappy about this. But I did not get to stick around long enough to see how this panned out. My understanding was that the policy came from higher in the agency than the Denver office.
