I will preface this by saying that everything I am about to say is entirely true. It may come off as the jaded dialogue of an ex-employee, but I cannot assure you enough of the veracity of these statements. My trainer for the customer service program was an atrocity. She was uneducated, vulgar, and disrespectful to an insane degree. I cannot say exactly why she and I rubbed each other the wrong way, but it became apparent very quickly that she did not like me, and began to harass me almost immediately. In my training class, I had the highest test scores of any of the nearly two dozen candidates, and glowing reviews from both peer instructors and tenured employees. Despite this, my trainer made it her personal mission to make my life with the company a living hell. Finally, urged by no less than five coworkers, I filed an official rebuke with the Human Resources department. I was almost immediately terminated from the company, the first day out of official training. I was not permitted to retrieve my personal belongings from my desk and was informed that I would need to return in three to five days to get them from the front desk. This particular act is in direct violation of Iowa State Law. During my conversation with Human Resources, I was mocked no less than twice by the adjudicator, who asked me if I had "ever been employed before" in regards to my issues with my trainer. My trainer further made several very, very inappropriate comments regarding my sexuality, and attempted to bar me from taking bathroom breaks, another violation of state law. When I mentioned this fact, she made a disparaging query as to where I was getting such information. I responded that my father was an attorney and she immediately became quiet, and left me alone for the remainder of the day. A small but appreciated blessing. I very quickly realized that if you do not "drink the Kool-Aid" (a direct quote by many of the existing employees) you are immediately in a very, very bad place.
