Vantaggi
The culture and camaraderie among the front line staff is positive - like-minded, relatively early stage career employees are friendly, socialise and enjoy working together. The office is clean, well resourced and convenient location. There is free food of high quality. There are some very smart people throughout the organisation who produce high quality work.
Svantaggi
- Leaders without Accountability: Uber is attempting to create a performance culture built on integrity and transparent process. However, they still have a legacy of senior leaders ripping up rule books for their own agenda - they lack accountability, and do as they please when it suits. It creates an environment where trust erodes quickly. - Abuse of Market Strength: They have a dominant market position, where it feels like, the temptation to take advantage of that dominance is too great for teams and leaders - for example, sloppy product launches with poor governance and lack of end to end execution for key initiatives. Teams get stuck selling products they know are not fit for purpose. Too many GTM folks, who don't align and are frequently changing strategies - teams are in a constant state of adjusting to the latest thinking rather than executing consistent and coherent strategies.
