good pay, great schedule, easy work

They brought on 100's of Manilla CSRs but fired 1/2 of the US work from home team. Not cool. Questions having to do with pay, contract, etc. are ignored both privately and in meetings that are supposed to be able to ask anything. Nothing is standardized, the partners are clueless and frustrated and most of the WFH US team is looking for other work.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I've passed along your comments about lack of communication to the CSR leadership. Regarding the changes in workforce, Uber is indeed evolving it's strategy and structure around customer support/service representatives. We're continually launching new products which means our customer support environment is more complex. To address the complexity, we're building centers of excellence (COEs) around the globe (included the US) to better serve the customer on support issues. With any change, it takes time to train and for everything to settle in. Energizing culture here, everyone is so boots on the ground, scrappy, committed to getting work done. A lot of passionate leaders. You can only be so enthusiastic about driving yet somehow we get it done. Top of the market compensation. Decent office amenities and high quality on-campus dining. No huge layoffs, the company operates efficiently. Every now and then you get a questionable hiring decision, but they hire fast and fire fast.

Insurance for a family is uber expensive, no dinner, no to-go boxes. Lots of restrictions on bringing your dog to the office. Extremely crowded on anchor days with a disorganized parking system. Not as many amenities as other big tech/FAANG. EV charging is ridiculously scarce. Not as much investment in having fun or building genuine connections at work.

I love being able to work around truly passionate people who are ready to change the world. The culture is great, free snacks and food is big plus. I had the opportunity to take ownership of projects within my first month

The hours are much longer than any other job I've worked in, but this is expected to change as we continue hiring more help
