Svantaggi
Unless you’re willing to relocate to corporate or change to a later shift, you’re going to be stuck in your current role. There is no such thing as a work-life balance, yes you’re done when your shift is done, but if you’re on a later shift, don’t expect to see your family anytime soon. Have a last minute doctors appointment? Expect it to be a nightmare to get the time off. If it’s in Q4, they’ll basically laugh at you and tell you to reschedule. They boast about their generous time off, but trying to take the time off is nearly impossible. They expect you to wait to plan YOUR time off with what is convenient for them. You also have to bid the October before the next year for your days off. It goes by seniority, so if you’re brand new, expect to go last in the bidding order. Make sure you have your ENTIRE NEXT YEAR planned to the day so you can cross your fingers you get your days off. The way they handled the pandemic was pathetic. I will cut them some slack in the beginning that nobody knew what to do, HOWEVER, it took them entirely too long to decide to send us to WFH standing behind their policy of “not being a wfh culture”. Even then, we were on a rotation and still had to come into the office every other week for absolutely no reason other than they want control. If you have a doctors note to take extended breaks, even if it’s something serious and potentially life threatening, they’ll still give you a hard time if your adherence is off. They may be understanding of it at first, but expect to be constantly reminded about it even though you have a note from your physician. And then don’t be surprised if it’s used against you on your end of year review. Liz has to approve any new hire, any promotion, basically any change that needs to be made. Yes. The president of the company who does not truly know these people or the day to day operations of what they do, has to approve you to move to a different role or to get hired. There have been multiple times where promotions have been delayed because “it’s just sitting on Liz’s desk” for approval and she had concerns even though the people who SHE hired to handle hiring and interviewing (HR, the managers you’d actually be working with) think you’re great.
