Svantaggi
It's like being in China. You can (and will) get scolded for using English words such as "issue" in the context of something other than as a synonym for the word "problem". In cases like this the management will not accept that their understanding of English is the issue (no pun intended). You will be made out as the stupid person instead. It will become a petty water cooler campaign. Sure the management will use "big" words at every opportunity - but it will usually be in the wrong context. Seriously - use of anything beyond a high school level of English will land you in trouble here. The whole engineering process lacks integrity and is ridiculous beyond words. Full design documentation is often demanded before requirements are even defined; they ship products as final working versions that haven't even made it through prototyping and that apparently are known not to work - honestly true. The worst part of it all is the corporate culture though. For example, many people seem to work long days (10 - 15 hrs per day) and sometimes for a month or more without a day off - the result of which is the usual sour face from management for not doing enough. It seems that nobody ever receives as much as a simple "thank-you" for work well done. It seems also that the team leads and managers are trained vigorously on how to intentionally diminish an employees self-worth. It's old school, but the management apparently still believes that they can squeeze more work out of it's staff this way. Maybe it's true, but it's also truly inhumane. Engineers walk around hunched over with the life beaten out of them. From any office one can hear the team leads and managers raising their voices and hurtling sour demeaning insults at other engineers. Needless to say this kind of environment leads to a dog-eat-dog kind of world and you had better watch your back with every step you take here.
