Great workplace - Recensione dipendente - Analyst presso United Income

One of my favorite things about United Income is the opportunity for cross-disciplinary learning. Discussions spanning engineering, mathematics, finance, regulation, and user experience are all part of the process of making something great. Employees feel invested in the product management process and have lots of opportunities to shape it's direction. The company is managed by some seriously smart folks who actually care about making a positive social impact on the world. The engineering team, which I'm a part of, is really good at exploring new technologies and figuring out ways to incorporate them into the product in ways that make sense. Overall, I've been really impressed with my experience at UI.

Not as many planned social events as you would see at a large company, so you might have to work a little harder if you're extroverted and want to hang out with colleagues.

We have a super-smart team leveraged against a solvable yet unaddressed problem with an incredible market opportunity. We're building exciting things here. The engineering team is using Node.js and a server-less architecture to create something that will quickly scale as the company grows. The product team is strong: design, UX, and methodology are testing and refining as they fight to meet product OKRs. And the management team? They're solid, they have a proven track-record, and they're already executing. So what about work-life? We have a mix of youngsters and oldsters, so people that like to go out at night and people who like to go home to their kids. There's support for both lifestyles, and, as one of the kid-havers I don't feel like I'm missing out. We're located in the K Street WeWork, which is spectacular. Cold brew coffee on tap every day. Freshly-made fruit water, hot coffee, and tea are always available. Monday breakfasts, free pick-me-ups through the week, and happy hours and lunch-and-learns are all part of the standard day-to-day. For a start-up that isn't blowing through its money this is a good life. I love coming to work every day. There's not much that really matters beyond that!

The downside? Everyone here is smart, and you really have to up your game to keep up and keep contributing! Seriously, though, this place is good.
