Vantaggi
Coworkers were friendly. All-you-can-drink soda was offered in the break room, of which I took full advantage. The dress code was a relaxed business casual. Lunch was ordered in once or twice a month. After COVID closed our office, we worked from home for 15 months before heading back to a hybrid structure until my departure at the end of 2021. The benefits were above average and the company offered a bonus structure based on sales. My position was rather relaxed for the most part, and nobody seemed to get too bent out of shape over things - at least at my level. They offered a reimbursement for a smart watch if you joined their health initiative. They would have step challenges and other health challenges throughout the year where you could win cash and prizes. I really only left to pursue the field of my degree.
Svantaggi
The office and some of the equipment was dated, but a new one was being built at the time of my departure. I felt the pay was a bit low, but I probably could have negotiated a higher wage. People there had either been there a long time or would likely continue to be there for a long time, which is typically an indicator of a good employer, but the chance of being promoted or growing professionally seemed unlikely without expansion or mass retirement.
