I have been working at Unity for 3 years from the Copenhagen office. While I have been witnessing some growth and change and with that comes as well employees replacement - Unity is definitely a good place to be from many different standpoints. The benefits are above the average when compared to other companies in old tech in Denmark. Everything changes though when compares to SF or the US in general where there is a different set of criteria. First-time managers, also still growing and developing like the other employees. What I enjoy is the open communication and debate of ideas, regardless of the position in the company. International environment and plenty of opportunities to travel, regardless of the team. If looking for work in software development - this is the place to be in terms of technology and direction.

Like any other company, there are small things that could be improved or break once in a while, however, nothing major that would affect the everyday.

-Flexible WFH environment -Decent work life balance and good benefits for the US based employees

-CEO and CFO insist on being based in New York, when the Company is based in SF. Earnings calls are at 5:30am because screw you West Coast. -CFO will stop at nothing until all the G&A, Accounting, Tax, and, Finance team members are located in Bangalore in an effort to cut costs. Offshoring is massive here and will only continue to expand. -Constant anxiety about layoffs. Sometimes they announce mass layoffs, but more often do it in smaller waves so as to not rattle the cage. -Top heavy org structure. There's probably as many or more SVP, VPs, Sr. Dir level folks as there are individual contributors/leads.
