Vantaggi
The team is small but made of lovely people. The team(staff and interns) who were around when I arrived made me feel welcomed and appreciated my input and efforts. The small team size meant that we had some flexibility and mainly followed a hybrid work from home and in-office schedule.
I didn't have much prior experience when I first interned over the summer in 2023, but was given guidance and space to learn and grow. I interned again in the summer of 2024, and a lot had changed. UA has progressed greatly over the past year and it was a pleasure working with and under the guidance of the general manager and executive director. It was very encouraging to see how passionate the staff team and leadership were about UA's mission, and I learnt a lot about myself and ADHD through them.
As an intern there were many opportunities for me to take charge and direct things as well as present my findings if I wanted to propose a change. I am grateful to have been provided a safe space to hone my public speaking and presentation skills while meeting some wonderful people in my time at UA :)

The team was quite small when I was an intern. It sometimes became a limiting factor in terms of what could or couldn't be done. However, I did attend an event hosted by UA recently and was glad to see that they have grown in their numbers and remain steadfast in their mission.
