Vantaggi

Unlocking ADHD is a truly mission-driven organization, and it shows in every aspect of the work culture. The team is passionate, collaborative, and genuinely cares about making a difference in the ADHD community. Leadership is supportive and open to new ideas, and there's a strong emphasis on mental well-being and flexibility — which is especially meaningful in this field. Opportunities for growth and learning are encouraged, and everyone's contributions feel valued. The remote setup is well-managed, with regular check-ins and a strong sense of camaraderie despite the distance.

Svantaggi

As with many non-profits or early-stage organizations, resources can be limited at times, and processes are still evolving. But the team is adaptive, and feedback is taken seriously to improve operations.

Vantaggi

Although short, I enjoyed my time here as an intern. I felt like the team and management was extremely personable and cared about their interns at and outside of work. They always tried to assign us tasks that interested us and related to our field of study. This especially applied to the ED, who always provided us what we needed to work efficiently (especially snacks!).

Svantaggi

UA is a small, relatively new charity, so they may not have as many resources as a large corporation for their interns. However, this allows employees to bond on a deeper level with management.

Vantaggi

The team is small but made of lovely people. The team(staff and interns) who were around when I arrived made me feel welcomed and appreciated my input and efforts. The small team size meant that we had some flexibility and mainly followed a hybrid work from home and in-office schedule. I didn't have much prior experience when I first interned over the summer in 2023, but was given guidance and space to learn and grow. I interned again in the summer of 2024, and a lot had changed. UA has progressed greatly over the past year and it was a pleasure working with and under the guidance of the general manager and executive director. It was very encouraging to see how passionate the staff team and leadership were about UA's mission, and I learnt a lot about myself and ADHD through them. As an intern there were many opportunities for me to take charge and direct things as well as present my findings if I wanted to propose a change. I am grateful to have been provided a safe space to hone my public speaking and presentation skills while meeting some wonderful people in my time at UA :)

Svantaggi

The team was quite small when I was an intern. It sometimes became a limiting factor in terms of what could or couldn't be done. However, I did attend an event hosted by UA recently and was glad to see that they have grown in their numbers and remain steadfast in their mission.
