Poor leadership, HIGH TURNOVER of employees, financially struggling, lacking organization, poor management of internal systems, nearly every single employee feels overworked and under-resourced. Company tries to fake profitability by constantly firing employees, and overworking the ones that stay. Many new hires leave after a few months. For a company that targets consumers of color, especially women of color, their leadership and executives are shockingly careless and ignorant around issues of cultural appropriation, diversity, and inclusion. In short, the brand claims to champion minorities, but the way they treat their own employees paints a much different picture. You will be expected to participate in extensive meetings and reporting, but findings are not applied. From the top down, new initiatives are added and changed so frequently, that nothing really gets done. Employees have said they are "trauma bonded" from working within this company. The only employees that seem to find longevity at Urban Skin are former "besties" of the CEO. Company has had various past scandals.
