On the other side lies a parallel hierarchy composed of the CEO’s family and friends from Eastern Europe, a group that lacks managerial expertise but intervenes freely at all levels, making changes based on superficial analysis, personal preferences, and a constant fear of losing control. Despite these dysfunctions the company remains afloat, largely because it is swimming in money, and under these circumstances the aggressive yet narrow-minded CEO appears to serve as the frontman for a money-laundering scheme.
