Vantaggi
Benefits, snacks; some talented and wonderful employees New facility which is already being outgrown. You will meet new people everyday, but only because of the high employee turnover.
Svantaggi
A swiss-based company once one of the best places to work in the valley. This is no longer the case. Due to its growth spurt, the company was not prepared to handle its overnight success without first updating its systems and processes or staffing the management team with inspirational leaders. Not enough well-trained management sensitive to employee concerns and suggestions. In one year has succumbed to a toxic environment and employee turnover. Also, really no room for growth. I would absolutely not recommend this place unless you are seeking a short internship or need something while looking for company that has a stellar culture. Micromanagement taken to an entirely outrageous level. Managers do not trust their employees to work independently and have indescribable egos that borderline on tyrannical. Not safe for the company or its employees. Though the positive reviews note that non-productive employees were let go; there were never any non-productive employees at VAT. Do you really want to work for a company that talks about former employees in this fashion? This indicates instability and the chance that should an employee not conform to a rigid environment or bad management, their job may be at risk. All employees, past and present, made several contributions to the company's success. Some employees were seasoned in the industry and senior level, however, their roles changed drastically with new management; this does not make them "non-productive". The negative feedback and lack of supportive leadership has nothing to do with closing of the east coast office; this is a weak excuse. Some of this feedback was posted before these changes were made. Do the math. Current employee feedback is not as favorable as made out to be; their jobs are their livelihood; they would not risk this by conveying their concerns due to risk of retaliation based on what they have heard about others losing their jobs. And, no, this is not a family-oriented company. You are expected to work, all hours, regardless of what is going on due to life events; although this may depend on the department for which you work and to whom you report. The job market is thriving; just keep looking. If you are not certain about these reviews; ask fellow colleagues for input. Leadership is King? Or leadership acts like a king? There is a difference. HENCE the negative feedback. The fact a post had to be made to save face speaks volumes. A desperate attempt at disaster recovery; too little, too late. Yes, let's not lay blame on where, or with whom, it truly lies, let's just blame it on supposedly disgruntled employees; it makes the company look better.
