Small company means you must wear multiple hats. You'll gain experience while working countless overtime hours. Distributors are wonderful, hardworking people but the owner hates to pay residual income, so finds a reason to get rid of long-term distributors once they reach a certain rank.

Company owner is a former stock broker with no experience in the direct sales industry. As a result, he overspends on pricey consultants. Long-term distributors and employees have fled the company. The owner cannot seem to maintain good relations with vendors, consultants, lawyers, employees, or distributors and is a source of constant drama. If you are a distributor for the company and you achieve a high rank, the owner will try to find any reason to terminate your agreement so he doesn't have to pay high commissions which you have earned. Company owner makes promises to corporate employees to entice you to work overtime hours to get the job done but doesn't deliver - ie., benefits, pay raises, promotions, etc. You will be allowed vacation, but count on working throughout your 'vacation.' No sick leave. The owner has a clique of favored employees who are invited to company events, sent on company cruises, vacations, and annual meetings. All other employees will be excluded. Pay is low and the owner uses the excuse that they are a small company to avoid giving promised raises. In reality, the owner fritters away profits by spending on expensive office space and decor, hiring over-priced marketing consultants that don't deliver and then having employees finish the work, and treating the company as his personal piggy bank to take his family to Disney World and Hawaii. You will be expected to be on call 24 hours, you will work seven days a week, and you will work more than 16 hours a day. If you don't make yourself available, expect to fired. Expect to be harangued during Monday corporate calls. Expect unreasonable expectations and be given no resources to do your job.
