Some groups have better culture than others. Process experimentation was often utilized which is not a bad idea overall, but there was quite a bit of pain when management ignored feedback and went in a bad direction.

Causal dress code, great co-workers, excellent benefits, transit subsidy. The tech support role required on site presence, however many developers and project managers were allowed to telecommute at times. Great downtown location in a historic building, and close to lots of restaurants. Very little micro management, and mostly supportive managers who were ready and willing to offer assistance when needed.

Svantaggi

Varolli is an SAAS company offering a great service, however the UNIX / SQL core software is quite complex and the code base is somewhat antiquated with only a few menu systems to work with. Most interactions with the application are performed using SQL statements and limited UNIX command line instructions. A lot of tribal knowledge, but they were working on adding knowledge base articles at the time I was there. Still - not enough information in many cases.
