Vantaggi

This is a small scale marketing and advertising company, focusing mainly on traditional branding and visual communication. People are nice and the company culture is great.

Svantaggi

I was looking for more UX design and research behind each project and want to work with clients through the whole pipeline. However, I spend most of the time making slides and designing logos. They didn't have many projects and workload was very light, which also means that you can't learn much and the space for growth was very limited.

Vantaggi

- Exposure to a variety of clients - Opportunity to take on a variety of roles - Extremely fast paced, in a way that will prepare you for any different job's craziness and teach you to appreciate the beauty of process and order - A commiseration among the employees trying to juggle a million things - Good work/life balance for the most part. PTO when you need it, ample vacation time and good health benefits

Svantaggi

- Direct management is extremely hostile and aggressive. Creates a work environment that's untenable and bad for your mental health - There just isn't the manpower or expertise necessary for all the promises that the company makes to clients or prospectives. Very regularly just a guess job drafted up hours before delivering it to a multi million dollar company that is expecting researched, carefully considered insights. It can feel like a grift sitting on the side of the phone knowing that everything being said is just made up as one person goes - Gender dynamics are uncomfortable. Direct management is one man often barking at the largely female staff, with a clear preference for straight male employees - Few growth opportunities. You're ultimately reporting to one person who has such a tightly clenched fist around every crossed T and dotted I, that the freedom to lead a project or idea is unlikely
