Vantaggi
Location, awesome colleagues, nice office layout and good learning opportunity
Svantaggi
Some managers come to Romania and refuse to understand that they're in another country with different mentality, work style and so on. People are different (not stupid, like some of them think), the way we work is different. They simply refuse to adapt and just want to impose their "I'm the boss, in the end it's my way" system. Not to mention many of them are not experts in their field. They're just employees with many years in Veeam, but not necessarily super competent. And this is evident in the work processes. On one hand there is a humiliating micromanagement, on the other hand, when you need help, the attitude many times, is to "figure it out yourself". The work environment becomes toxic, stressful and frustrating. Talking about it with the manager either leads to nothing or it's not advisable. The salary is behind the market, the benefits are average. The amount of the Easter and Christmas gift tickets is ridiculous. The salary increase this year was almost nothing, even though they brag in every call and meeting how great 2020 was, despite covid. Very hard to work from home before covid. Very high volume of work because there are not enough people. A person ends up doing the work of two people. And no, there is no raise for that. You end up doing things automatically without learning anything anymore. High risk of burnout. Outdated, complicated processes, which makes work chaotic. "Polite public shaming" within the teams and "modern slavery" without accountability. People do not trust HR to act impartially and that's why nobody says anything. Employee feedback on direct manager / TL is never required. Health benefits have been changed, probably to save money, otherwise I can't explain the bad decision with the new health insurance.
