Vantaggi
Remote work opportunity. Good equipment. Overall, Veeva is a strong company with a good reputation. However, these specific positive attributes do not necessarily reflect the experience within the OpenData business unit.
Svantaggi
I worked for Veeva OpenData - very toxic environment - bad managers: This is a data business unit, but the managers lack any technical knowledge. They are incapable of making data-driven decisions and don't even know the professional jargon. You would assume they have very strong client-side experience, which is also not true. No matter how hard you try to explain how a decision could negatively impact the client, they won't listen. Most of them have been here for 7–10 years or more because they are part of the inner circle, but they have no idea what they should be doing. The success of Open Data is purely down to Veeva CRM being a strong product. - lack of performance metrics: There are no performance metrics in place, so evaluations are based purely on the manager's subjective impressions. Naturally, they abuse this system, firing people for trumped-up reasons. If you're luckier, they'll just show off their Napoleon complexes. - Business partners do not help you but if you have any problem they just ask you to leave. - no career development oppurtunity: There is no chance to get promoted if you are not part of the inner circle. They even block you to internal movement within the company. Never join OpenData.
