Svantaggi
VG set me up to excel after I left them due to the vigorous training and "old school" recruitment style. But in honesty, the place burnt me out to the point where my mental health was quickly starting to decline. I reached Executive Consultant level quickly, but once you reach it, it is near impossible to hit the next milestone despite working tirelessly. The company has not kept up with the rest of the industry post covid; no working from home, no flexible hours (8.30-5.30 at minimum), no incentives. Lunch breaks were a myth and if you were the last one in the office or first one out, you would be judged heavily. Those who vaped or smoked were given the grace to go out whenever they wanted for 10 minutes whilst everyone was chained to their desk - not fair in my opinion. Some of the Managers are nice to work with; others micro-manage you, even if you've given them no reason to (i.e. consistently hitting KPIs). At the time I thought this was normal having never worked in agency recruitment before but now I have moved on I see this is an extremely outdated approach. There were times when Managers made comments that are completely inappropriate in the work place and I felt as if I couldn't say anything as it seemed that any complaints got back to the person who would then share with the team. The team nights out provided something to look forward to, but if I had my time again I wish I'd left sooner. I hope they can work on creating a better work environment for staff.
