Co-workers are great, people are easy to get along with.

Leadership team says one thing and does another in terms of beliefs and culture. They say they appreciate and value their employees, but that's hard to believe when they let employees go because of the position they hold, not the actual value they bring to the company. They hire people for position, they don't hire people for people. They show their "appreciation" by buying employees sweatshirts and coffee mugs. Pay is also a little low compared to similar positions in the area.

We are glad that you work with some great team members and get along with them. We are so thankful for each and every team member that we have! We are also thankful for a team that is encouraging, supportive, and friendly. Unfortunately, letting some employees go is a part of running a business. It is by far one of our least favorite parts, but is something we have to do on occasion. We work hard to coach and grow our team members so these are as infrequent as possible. Oftentimes, we try to find a different position within the company that fits their individual strengths, however, that is not always a possibility. As for hiring people for the position, we do need to hire someone who is qualified and will succeed in the position as well as be a great culture fit. The last thing we would want to do is set someone up for failure by hiring them knowing they are not properly qualified and end up having to let them go because they are not meeting goals and necessary job functions. We are sad to hear that it sounds like you have missed out on our many different activities that show our appreciation to our team including annual Office Olympics, Treat Yo’ Self activities (massages, treats, apparel, etc.), Big 4 win activities (paintball, axe throwing, movies, etc.), and most recently Employee Appreciation Day which was last Friday. We’ve missed seeing the team due to the Covid pandemic that has caused restrictions on large gatherings and therefore prevented the fun group activities in 2020, but we were so excited to get to see everyone for a bit! Many enjoyed the music, Crumbl cookies, popcorn machine, and swag spin wheel. We are looking forward to the day when things get back to “normal” and we can do all of our previous group activities again. We hope to see you at the next one! Not only do we show our appreciation to our team through events, but we also show our appreciation every day through professional development, paid education and certification opportunities, and competitive compensation and benefits, including 100% covered health premiums for our team members. All of that has our average tenure nearing the 3-year mark, including yourself! There are some amazing people at the organization.

The level or micromanagement is unlike I have ever seen in my career. Only certain employees are allowed laptops so they are forced to work at their desks and good luck working at a conference. You literally have to email all of management and the team your “end of day” including a task list of what you did for the day…because you know they can’t pull a sales report. But they do, that is sent every morning! Additionally they have click tracking software installed on all the sales teams computers. Your phone calls are recorded and sales meetings video recorded. You have ZERO autonomy at this company. Leadership has no trust in their employees. Ironic for a company who attempted to utilize prison labor to cut costs. VF sister company Safety Security ended up in litigation for this exact reason. If you could background screen the company on ethics they would fail. They discriminate against female employees, harassment has been a documented issue that is swept under the rug. Additionally their pay (base/commission) is far below other companies in the market. Six different employees expressed that they were lied to about the commission structure and pay by sales leadership and nothing was ever addressed.
