I worked at Verizon Wireless (call center customer service) for 12 years. Thank God my center recently closed! No amount of money is worth the BULLYING & HARASSING every day tactics imposed by management and certain Associate Directors that was put up with!!! Micromanagement, unrealistic goals, treated as a number and or a machine! Excessive weekly coaching to human behavior as to why you chose the resolution you did. Really! So elementary, NO TRUST! You could do everything right have a perfect call and they would find something wrong with it! If Jesus Christ himself took the call there would still be something wrong with it! I could go on but I am sure this paints a picture! I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORKING HERE! It is full of undue stress and anxiety! A health hazard and toxic place of employment! VERIZON IS NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN! There are many other companies that pay well and treat their employees with dignity and respect! Expect from your employer what they expect from you!

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
