Vantaggi
Quarterly profit share is a nice bonus. Exposure to a wide variety of projects keeps things interesting. Active social calendar and employee network groups. Nice office environment with good facilities. Extremely flexible working arrangements; big plus for work-life balance.
Svantaggi
Onboarding can be drawn out and inconsistent. Career progression feels stagnant and more like a checkbox exercise, especially when you’re on a project separate from your line manager and have no other V1 colleagues for support or feedback. Recent changes to quarterly reviews and bonuses shifted the goalposts without warning. The criteria for achieving an “exceeds expectations” rating are now almost unattainable without risking burnout or sacrificing work-life balance, even with extremely positive client/colleague feedback. The same applies to career advancement. The panel deciding these higher-level bonuses often feels detached from client work and can lack an accurate picture of individual performance. Expectations can be muddled: the company rightly prioritises client work but also expects attendance at internal events, which are frequently scheduled in and around lunch hours, which adds unnecessary pressure. Recent management direction seems to be pushing for more office attendance, even for those working on projects without any colleagues based there, which adds little to collaboration or productivity.
