I worked at Version 1 for around 7 years, primarily on public sector projects. While the company has strong stated core values, in my experience these were not always reflected at the senior management level. There was often a disconnect between leadership decisions and the well-being of teams. A key challenge was the management culture, particularly at the portfolio level, where decisions seemed heavily driven by client retention priorities. This sometimes resulted in internal politics and added pressure on teams. Although I gained valuable experience during my time there, I found the overall work environment could be stressful and not always supportive. I would recommend that potential employees carefully consider whether this environment aligns with their expectations, especially if they are looking for a stable and balanced workplace.
