Discount, good pay, sometiems freebies(but those are not as much as they used to be)

Svantaggi

The 4 values that victorias secret lived for were thrown overboard. They do not care about employees they care about numbers. It is ironic , because they boast they strive to be the best employer that takes care of their own employees. A few months ago management decided to terminated all cat supervisor positions. VS (Victorias Secret) gave those supervisors 2 options: become a full time sales associate or immediately terminated! Really, VS did not even consider their own supervisors for other management options or vacancies. VS did not consider the supervisors' performance, they simply got demoted or terminated. They can do that with any position. They do not even pay their salaried managers for working holidays, either in $$ or time off why? because managers were not supposed to work overtime, however everyone knows that during christmas in retail if you are a good manger that is nearly impossible. There is also so much rotation of managers! They all quit. We had over 3 District Managers in less than 1 yr and many more store managers. Upper management is very numbers oriented and can only find themselves asking why you are not making it without considering other factors. If you do not generate the sales upper management has decided you should do are not happy with you. They pressure you, because it has to be you, not the store not the economy. I understand the brand itself sells, but they are not satisfied with %5 over last year oh no! they want to double their sales in 5 yrs so they want you to do LY numbers + their set plan + anything above their plan. At least a minimum 18% improvement over last year. However may I remind you we are still in retail. Upper management pressure for managers to sell. We all hate manages that stay in the office all day, however why is there so much pressure for the store manager/visual team to sell? When are the managers going to do their job manage and grow people when they ridiculous sales goals. Associate stress. Associates stress themselves out all day to reach of their sales targets (if they do not reach a minimum number, they are fired), but they reach the incentive threshold I guess do get a nice bonus. It is really hard to get it though (especially for full timers, who end up getting non peak hours or if associates open and close because the extra hr they stay cleaning and tiding up they have to make up for. It also depends on your store and how busy it is. Fortunately hours are so lean that maybe there aren't as many associates on the floor so that the few associates can reach their targets. I do understand that it is a business and we are looking for efficiency, but Ive seen how great people spend ever minute thinking if they are going to make it or not (especially when its too quiet). There is a lot of stealing sales. You have to be really aggressive and say your name a thousand times. If customers cannot remember your name then you do not get the sale ( and you don even get a name batch).

Vantaggi

Remote, work-life balance, easily post shifts and get vto if you want it

Svantaggi

Hours fluctuate way too much, and repetitive, brainless type of calls. You're walked all over, and have to play stupid with customers because of their "assume good intent" policy, but WOW the amount of people who take advantage of this wild. You will see hundreds of dollars refunded on numerous back-to-back orders of the same person claiming they didn't get their package, or coupons and gift cards, nonstop, with customers always complaining. The complaints from customers still in store on their treatment from store managers and supervisors are shocking, I've had calls hearing those workers yellling at customers. The type of work and level of needing to play stupid is just not for me. I also didnt care for never getting a straight answer from managers, trainers, higher-ups. Everything is always beating around the bush. One time hours were cut back a lot, and they blamed the tariffs that the president imposed, which made no sense. Come to find out from a long-term employee that it was just the usual slow time. It's a weird work environment that you just can't take seriously. If you want remote work, take it for the experience on your resume, but move on.
