Vantaggi
At first, this place was getting a lot of buzz. It had a lot of media attention and lots of articles written about the company. It seemed like a success story and like it had all of the momentum in the world, until it all started to unravel. They had (not sure if they still do) onsite catered food and some cool perks.
Svantaggi
This place is a management disaster! There's no sugar coating it! Don't believe me? Just track the CONSTANT churn of high level executives and mid-level managers (not to mention all of the churn of individual contributors) and they all reveal a tale of serious ineptitude that permeates throughout this company. -The CEO loves to be in the spotlight but has no idea how to properly run a business. He's constantly changing his mind on the simplest of decisions and he can never justify his decisions to staff. -The CTO loves to bring in personal friends who have no idea what they are doing. It's a level of incompetence worthy of a TV comedy! You've never experienced epic frustration until you've worked with the CTO and the friends he brings in. -There's a level of technical debt that is shocking for such a young company. You almost have to go out of your way to design and implement a tech stack as bad as they have at Vidyard. And they NEVER take the time to even remotely address the growing technical debt which as Developer means you're constantly building on top of an unstable platform. -Very smarmy and condescending upper management. They never listen to your genuine concerns and they have attitudes that are entirely unbecoming of a professional organization. -I swear the CEO only works 50% of the year. How does he have so much vacation time?
