Vantaggi
Some good colleagues at site level who were hardworking and supportive. The brand itself naturally attracts customers and there are capable people within parts of the business. Some very supportive and excellent long-term directors who are too stretched to support as they ideally would be able to.
Svantaggi
My experience working at Vindis was extremely disappointing and highlighted serious issues with leadership and management culture. I joined the company as a Used Car Sales Manager and was motivated to succeed in what was my first role at that level. Despite this, there was almost no structured onboarding, coaching or management support provided. During my time in the role I received no formal performance reviews, no structured feedback and no meaningful guidance on expectations or development. Communication from senior leadership often felt inconsistent, and decisions appeared to be made behind closed doors without transparency. In my case, I was dismissed without prior warning, without any form of performance improvement plan and without any constructive discussion about concerns beforehand. What was most surprising was the approach taken by senior leadership during this process. Given the level of experience and reputation associated with some of the leadership team, I expected professionalism, guidance and constructive leadership. Instead, the interaction felt cold, detached and lacking the kind of engagement that you would normally expect from experienced retail leaders. The timing of the dismissal also made the situation particularly difficult, occurring just one week before Christmas. As a father with a family to support, this created an extremely stressful situation at what should normally be a time focused on family. The budgets are set for what sites are "believed" they should make and not based on any historical data meaning only sales executives can earn any real money. The overall experience left the impression of a culture where managers are not always supported or developed, and where leadership decisions can be abrupt rather than constructive.
