Vantaggi
- The company is very flat - Nice physical setup (was provided a mechanical keyboard, ultrawide monitor) - Flexible work hours (for some) - Really good work/life fit - Good 401k match
Svantaggi
- The company is very flat - I didn't always know who my manager was for a given role, who to go to with problems, and while he states he has an open door policy, going directly to a CEO isn't always a solution people will be inclined to choose (not to mention if everyone all of a sudden took him up on that offer, the system would fall apart instantly) - Poor internal communication structures - Very few formalized structures or policies in general - In the three years I was there, I think people above me reached out to see how I was doing and what my thoughts were on things maybe twice total - Bit of a monoculture, though in tech in the IC that doesn't make them an outlier I don't think - There always seemed to be an attitude that compared to other contractors in the same space, we were _the cool ones_ and so everyone should be grateful we were there. Problem is, those other contractors are the company's sole competition for business, but not the sole competition for employees. Other than being _in the club now_, maintaining a clearance didn't feel worth it at all - I could make significantly more with better benefits and perks working in the commercial space so why would I stay? - Management didn't seem to know how to deal with underperformers or antagonistic people
